Smart Sensors and their role in Industry 4.0 (IIOT)
iTech hosted a seminar on smart sensor technology and Industry 4.0. It was held at the HV Catapult Centre, AFRC on Tuesday 25th of October 2016. This was an excellent opportunity to view the latest sensor technology from companies such as Siemens, Turck Banner, IFM and Balluff as well as discussing Industry 4.0 and the IIOT.
The 145th Open at Royal Troon
We had a fantastic day out at The Open with our clients, suppliers and friends. Starting with breakfast at the Strawberry Cushion and then a day at the golf at Royal Troon for Wednesday’s Practice day.
Ian was back on the final day of The Open, to see Henrik Stenson win the Claret Jug.
Lions Club Golf Day
Grimsby Cleethorpes Lions Club have recently held their annual charity golf day at Waltham Windmill Golf Club, and once again it was a very successful event. 20 Teams took part to compete for “The Claret Jug”.
The winning captain had travelled all the way from Troon in Scotland for the event, and the other three team players are all engineers from Phillips 66 the local oil giant. Ian McCartney the winning captain said that persistence pays, as this was the seventeenth time that he and his company had entered the event. He said “It’s great that the Lions Claret Jug is going up home to Troon to join the real British Open Claret Jug., which will be presented to the winner of this year’s event at Troon on Sunday 17th July”.
Golf Tournment 2015
Replacement team at the Grimsby Cleethorpes Lions golf day in June hosted at Waltham Windmill Golf club and organised by Mr Fred Smiles. Phillps 66 Humber refinery are in the middle of a massive shutdown and couldn’t field a team this year.
The team didn’t do too well but the halfway house was a treat !
